Today’s Web surfing was a continuation from yesterday’s discussion of URLs, and the “U” standing for “Uniform” not “Universal”. This then lead me to read about Hypertext and stumbling onto one of Ted Nelson’s articles on Xanadu in which he discusses Transliterature and the concept of Transclusion.

This got me to read up on HTML and HTML5 and into a failed attempt to use the Object module to do Transclusion on the Web. It did help me understand the difference between DIV and SPAN (alternative explanation), but the key thing being that DIV is used as a base element, while SPAN is used inline.
